What does this mean? It means that the state's conservation districts will prioritize soil and water conservation for maximum nutrient retention. It will require conservation districts to develop a needs assessment and goals, followed by a report on progress to goals and strategy every two years. I personally think it is another win for the health of our soil, which means a better outcome for our health and productive capacity.

But it seems like not everyone likes the idea. The Illinois Farm Bureau opposes it because it is too bureaucratic.
