Non-fiction Back in 2011 the drought was so bad and the cracks in the ground were so deep that when one of my sons dropped a wrench and it fell into a crack that we could not retrieve it.... We could see it, but when I ran a tape measure down the crack to the wrench, it was over 8 feet deep.
