When I listened to Dale's webinar yesterday, I decided to commit publicly (gulp!) to working on holding more water through building some beaver dam analogs, similar to what Dale called leaky weirs. Our drought in Montana is killing some big cottonwoods and they are right beside the creeks that are incised despite really careful grazing management. So I am going to look into how I can best use a few of those dead trees (not all of them, because some have cavity nesting birds) to help my ailing creek.

(And I don't want one of those monsters after me next Halloween because I didn't make the pledge!)
